Monopoly tournament fundraiser planned

The Learning for Life Division of Otetiana Council, in cooperation with the Greater Rochester Jaycees, is hosting a Monopoly Tournament on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rochester Club Ballroom, 120 East Avenue. Registration is $40 per person, and includes game materials, food and drink tickets. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available. Participants must pre-register for the event. Proceeds from the event support the Learning for Life program in Monroe County.

Tables of six players and one official banker will play a 90-minute game of Monopoly. At the end of the game, the person with the most assets wins the grand prize, a Woodcliff Package of golf and brunch for two. In addition to the grand prize, each table winner will receive a prize. The event will also feature a silent auction and a jailhouse for those players who have to "go directly to jail."

Learning for Life is comprised of character education and career development programs for students in grades K-12, including over 100 Exploring programs. In 2004, Otetiana Council served over 10,000 students through the Learning for Life programs.
