Elizabeth A. VanDeusen, of Adams Basin, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester at Alfred University. She is a senior in the School of Art and Design. Students must earn at least a 3.3 grade point average to qualify for dean's list.

A graduate of Brockport High School, VanDeusen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. VanDeusen V of Adams Basin.


Ashley L. Anzalone, of Spencerport, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester at Alfred University. She is a junior in the School of Art and Design. Students must earn at least a 3.3 grade point average to qualify for dean's list.

A graduate of Brockport High School, Anzalone is the daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Anzalone of Spencerport.


Michael W. Attridge has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. Attridge is studying computer science.

Attridge, the son of Kevin and Sue Attridge of Hilton, is a 2002 graduate of Hilton High School.


Laura Mikels, daughter of William and Nancy Mikels of Hilton, has been named to the spring and fall dean's list at SUNY Fredonia. Mikels, a junior, is majoring in early childhood education.


Megan Krahe has been named to the president's list at SUNY Canton for the fall 2004 semester where she is enrolled in the criminal investigation program.

She is a 2002 graduate of Brockport High School and is the daughter of Michael and Pamela Krahe of Brockport.


Rachel Deaton, a student at SUNY Cortland, has been named to the fall 2004 dean's list. She is majoring in communications and political science. A Hilton High School graduate, she is the daughter of David and Andrea Deaton.


Melayne Karnitz, a member of the Class of 2006 at Wells College, participated in an internship in January. She was an intern with Rochester Museum and Science Center in Rochester.

Karnitz is the daughter of Michael and Deborah Karnitz of Brockport.


Brian C. Rebman of Rochester has been named to the SUNY Potsdam dean's list for fall 2004. He is the son of Steve Rebman and Patricia Rebman of Rochester.


The following students have been named to the president's list for fall 2004 at SUNY Potsdam:

  • From Spencerport: James Robert Colby, majoring in music education and performance music; Jenna Marie Dandrea, majoring in psychology; Christina Rose Kesselring, majoring in psychology; Laura Michelle Osgood, majoring in music education and performance music.
  • From Brockport: Holland Elizabeth Gursslin, majoring in music.

Clarkson University has named the following students to the dean's list and presidents list for fall 2004:

James R. Schreiner, dean's list, a junior majoring in mechanical engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schreiner of Spencerport; Matthew C. Stafford, presidential scholar, a junior majoring in electrical engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stafford of Rochester; Kyle F. Zess, dean's list, a junior majoring in computer engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Zess of Churchville; Bradley F. Povelaites, dean's list, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Povelaites of Rochester; Michael C. O'Laughlin, dean's list, a junior majoring in interdisciplinary engineering and management. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael O'Laughlin of Brockport; Eric M. Valentine, dean's list, a junior majoring in electrical engineering. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Valentine of Churchville.


Daemen College has named Wendy Slattery of Brockport to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester.


Sara R. Tully was named to the dean's list for academic achievement during the fall 2004 semester at St. Lawrence University, Canton. Tully graduated from Spencerport High School.


Chuck Wade, a junior communication-broadcasting major at SUNY College at Brockport, has been selected this year's winner of the Rochester Audio Visual Association Scholarship.

Wade, a native of Batavia, has been active with the SUNY Brockport campus radio station WBSU 89.1 FM The Point.

Wade is the son of Bill and Paula Wade, and is a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Batavia.


Katharine Voorheis, of Spencerport, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester in the School of Education at Syracuse University. Voorheis is a freshman majoring in inclusive elementary and special education.

To qualify for the dean's list, a student must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.


Chad Hage of Brockport, a senior majoring in finance and supply chain management in the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

Michael Duane King was named to the fall 2004 dean's list at the University of South Carolina. He is from Spencerport.


Olivia Prince of Spencerport, a student of the Gymnastics Training Center of Rochester, participated in the I Love NY Cup meet held February 4-6 in Binghamton. Olivia took first in vault, second on floor, third on bars, fourth on beam, with first place all around in the 7-9 year division. Her Level 6 team took home fourth place.


Holly Snell, daughter of Robert and Patricia Snell of Kendall. Snell has been named to the 2004 fall dean's list at Le Moyne College in Syracuse.

Snell, a junior, is an accounting major. To be eligible for the dean's list at Le Moyne College, a student must have attained at least a 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.


Jason Strollo, a 2004 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, has been named to the dean's list at the University of Buffalo for the fall 2004 semester. Jason is a business major at UB and is the son of Donna and Thomas Strollo of Ogden.


Allison Olney has been named to the dean's list at Grove City College. Majoring in business management, Olney is a 2003 graduate of Spencerport High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Olney of Spencerport.


Two technicians from the Spurr Chevrolet, Inc. dealership in Brockport scored number one nationally in the General Motors Training program.

Dan Busch ranked first out of 648 technicians tested nationally for the Engine Repair Training portion of General Motors "Mark of Excellence Professional Service Guild" program.

Jeff Rossitz also ranked first out of 535 technicians testing for the Engine Performance portion of the program.

This program measures how well General Motors' most elite dealers compete against each other in the areas of Customer Satisfaction and Service and Sales Training Requirement Standards.


Lisa Flow, daughter of Vince and Barbara Flow of Kendall has been named to the 2004 fall dean's list at Le Moyne College in Syracuse.

Flow is a 2001 graduate of Kendall High School. She is majoring in biological sciences.


The following area students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, students must achieve at least a 3.4 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester.

  • From Brockport, David Robinson, a senior majoring in political science and economics.
  • From Churchville, Meghan Rowcliffe, a sophomore majoring in arts and sciences.
  • From Hamlin, Elizabeth Reitter, a junior majoring in political science.
  • From Hilton, Matthew McGrath, a senior majoring in economics and public relations.
  • From Spencerport, Mallory Blackburn, a sophomore majoring in geology; Robert Sickelco, a sophomore majoring in philosophy; and Joseph Sirianni, a freshman majoring in pre-medicine.

Navy Seaman Recruit John M. Camp, son of Pam L. and James F. Camp of Hilton, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois.

During the eight-week program, Camp completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

Camp is a 2004 graduate of Brockport High School.


Air Force Airman First Class Daniel Grashof has arrived for duty at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. Grashof is an intelligence operations helper assigned to the 52nd Operations Support Squadron. He has served in the military for one year.

He is the son of David and Elizabeth Grashof of Hilton. The airman is a 2002 graduate of Hilton High School.


Army Pvt. Patrick J. Whitney has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Oklahoma.

He is the son of Patrick T. Whitney and grandson of Lucy A. Palmer, both of Churchville.


Army National Guard Pfc. Vincent J. Flow IV has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Georgia.

Flow is the son of Vincent Flow II of Holley.

The private is a 2002 graduate of Kendall High School.
