Predatory drugs are topic of upcoming SUNY presentation

SUNY Brockport is holding a presentation, Predatory Drugs of Abuse, on Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m. at the Seymour Union, Room 119. The presentation is free and open to the public.

The keynote speaker is Gary Metz, associate professor in the college's Department of Health Science and coordinator of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Studies. Metz will discuss predatory drugs such as ecstasy, ketamin, GHB (gammahydroxybutrate), and will emphasize the health risks and legal issues of use and abuse.

He will also focus on general safety issues such as drug facilitated sexual assault, what to do if you believe you have been slipped a drug, ways to protect yourself, and trends on campuses across the nation and locally. A question and answer session will take place following the presentation.
