DOT meeting for Route 531 Extension project set

The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting to discuss the preliminary environmental studies and design of the Route 531 Extension Project in the towns of Ogden and Sweden.

The meeting will be held in Brockport's Hill School cafetorium on Allen Street on Tuesday, March 8. A short presentation will be made at 7 p.m. to give an overview of the project, share the timeline, what has been done to date and to solicit concerns from the community. State DOT representatives will include a transportation planner, highway designer, environmental and historic liaison and the public affairs coordinator. Interested individuals, groups, students, local officials and agencies will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with project staff to become more familiar with the project and to find out how to get involved.

Those unable to attend the meeting may contact Lori Maher, public information officer by calling (585) 272-4818 or by writing to 1530 Jefferson Road, Rochester, NY 14623. For further information on this project, or to request a sign language interpreter, assistive listening system or any other accommodations required to participate in this public meeting may also be obtained by contacting Maher.
