Sheri Girvin of Holley, a student at St. John Fisher College, was selected for Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.


Carla Longobardi, Rochester, has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fourth-year student in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology, Longobardi is studying hotel and resort management. Longobardi, daughter of Carmen and Maureen Longobardi, is a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School.


Brockport resident Dawn A. McCrudden received a bachelor of science degree in English education, cum laude from Boston University.


University at Buffalo has named the following students to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester:

  • Hilton: Nicole M. Dalton, Steven M. McDonald and Hannah V. Walter;

Jennifer Buttery, the daughter of Janet and Jess Buttery of Brockport, and a junior at Hamilton College, is studying abroad for the 2005 spring semester. Buttery will be studying in Mongolia, through the School for International Training. A comparative literature and geology major at Hamilton, she is a graduate of Brockport High School.


Ryan F. Schicker of Hamlin, an architectural technology major, has been named to the fall 2004 dean's list at Morrisville State College.


Benjamin F. Plucknette a physical therapy major at Daemen College, was named to the fall 2004 dean's list. He is from Spencerport.


Twenty-one area students were the outstanding high school students recognized in February by SUNY College at Brockport. The following high schools were represented in the 3-1-3 program:

  • Brockport High School - Gabrielle Boley, Bradley Hamling, Dustin Hartman, Eden Hoben, Ana Lester, Amy Lomondo, Patrick Mosher, Stephanie Peckham, Preethi Rao, Matthew Rath and Tresa Westcott.
  • Kendall High School - Pamela Barchet, Karl Driesel, Andrew Gudonis and Cody Rath.
  • Spencerport High School - Claire Fortin, Katelin O'Connor, Tracy Vence, Stephanie Wahba and Suzanne Yaeger.

The following students were named to the dean's list for the fall 2004 semester at Messiah College, Grantham, Pennsylvania: Brockport resident Erin Corbett, a sophomore majoring in pre-elementary education and Hilton resident Gareth Schuth, a senior majoring in music education.


Scott Doe has joined Monroe Litho, Inc. as account executive. Doe hold a bachelor of arts degree, computer programming, Ithaca College and is also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is a Hilton resident.

Monroe Litho, Inc. is a supplier of high-end commercial sheet fed printing with offices in Rochester, New York City and Washington, D.C. The company has been in business for more than 50 years.


Katie Voorheis has been named to the dean's list with honors for the fall semester at Syracuse University School of Education.

Voorheis graduated from Churchville-Chili High School where she was named the senior female athlete of the year in 2004. Voorheis received the Harvey Anderson Award at the Press/Radio dinner last year. She is the daughter of Deb and Brian Voorheis of Spencerport.


Joan Greeno, Associate Broker for Nothnagle Realtor's Chili/Ogden Office, was awarded Sales Agent of the Month for both December 2004 and January 2005, having over $640,000 in sales production for each month. She also earned Lister of the Month for January 2005 for listing six homes.


Marine Corps Pfc. Dawson K. Hargett, stepson of Betty Sharpe of Lyndonville, and brother of Angel Male of Hamlin, is currently in the middle of a deployment to Iraq while stationed with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (HMM-268), homebased at Camp Pendleton, California.

Hargett is a 2003 graduate of Brockport High School and joined the Marine Corps in August 2003.


Army Pfc. Dean P. Barney has graduated from the utilities equipment repairer advanced individual training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Maryland.

Barney is the son of Brian S. and Beth Barney of Brockport. He is a 2004 graduate of Brockport High School.
