Leukemia Dance Marathon held in Brockport

The 32nd Annual Leukemia Dance Marathon will be held March 4-5 from 8 p.m.-8 a.m. in the Brockport High School Cafeteria. The marathon is the longest running event that raises money to support Strong Hospital's Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department's research aimed at finding a cure for childhood leukemia. Area students collect sponsors from the community and then partake in a fun night of dancing. Over the years, the marathon has donated almost $300,000 to Strong. This year's chairpeople, Josh Page, Katrina Collinsworth (right) and Amanda Hamlin (left), have picked the theme "One Year at a Time" to represent the continued effort of students to raise money that hopefully one year will fund the research that finds the cure.
