Halter nets double-double for Eagles

Christine Halter scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a 44-40 Kendall victory over Alexander in Class CC quarterfinal basketball action.

Halter scored four points in each of the first two quarters and added five more in the third to stake the Eagles to a 19 point lead heading to the fourth quarter. After Halter put in a lay-up in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, Alexander ran off a 13-0 streak to pull to within ten points with less than three minutes remaining.

A pair of free throws by Halter and another by Trisha D'Agostino on the front end of a one-and-one gave Kendall the breathing room to hang on.

D'Agostino hauled down seven rebounds to go with her five points, Sarah Gaylord scored 15 points and Biance Smith led with four steals with five rebounds and three assists. Chelsie Cliff had four points and Jen Cole added a pair.

The Eagles' season ended with a loss to top-seed Lyons in the sectional semi-finals.
