Trinity Church donates to North Star

On February 15 Trinity Episcopal Church gave donations to students and teachers at North Star Educational Center on North Clinton Avenue in Rochester. North Star is a tutoring center for troubled elementary school children in the city school district.

Trinity Church, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the congregation in May, decided it wanted to begin this anniversary celebration by giving gifts to the local community, then to a ministry in the diocese and finally one in the larger church. Trinity has as their vision being a family-friendly congregation. Karen Barber, a teacher at North Star, spoke with Trinity's rector Reverend Don Hill, and told of the need for supplies and especially for books for the children at North Star.

From January to mid-February, individuals at Trinity brought in books and other school supplies to give as the first gift to the community. On February 15, five cartons of books and supplies were taken to North Star.
