Mayor swears in chief officers for 2005

The Brockport Fire Department re-elected the chief officers of the department. Christian McCullough, Fire Chief, Laurence C. Vaughan, Deputy Chief and Timothy J. Rombaut, Assistant Chief, will serve a second year. Mayor Josephine Matela was on hand at a recent meeting of the fire department to swear in the Village Department head, and his two assistants, for the Fire and EMS service for another year. The village contracts both services to the towns of Sweden and Clarkson. The Brockport Fire Department also provides fire protection and EMS to the SUNY Brockport Campus.

The mayor expressed to all at the meeting about the wonderful job they all do for the community, and how proud she and the board are of the services the volunteers provide.

In 2004, the Brockport Fire Department responded to 1,015 requests for aid. The Ambulance Corps had 1,741 calls for service for a combined total of 2,756 times the community needed assistance.
