Four missing youth located, returned home

On Monday, March 7, a 15-year-old female and a 13-year-old female were reported missing to the Holley Police Department and a 13-year-old female and 14-year-old male were reported missing to the Orleans County Sheriff's Department. The Holley Police Department prepared a missing child poster and broadcast the poster to 177 law enforcement agencies in the western New York area. In addition, the Department of Criminal Justice Services Missing and Exploited Children Clearinghouse in Albany assisted the investigation.

The parents of the children, along with their family members and friends canvassed areas of Orleans, Monroe and Genesee counties, placing hundreds of posters in stores, restaurants, libraries, banks and other public areas.

On Wednesday, March 9, a Holley school bus operator observed the four missing children on Hinds Road in the town of Clarendon. Holley Police were notified, responded and located the missing children. They were ultimately returned safely to their parents and homes.

The Holley Police Department and the Orleans County Sheriff's Department continued to investigate the circumstances and as a result of that investigation, a 20-year-old town of Clarendon man was arrested.

William C. Guilford, of Clarendon, was charged with burglary in the second degree, custodial interference in the first degree, several counts of endangering the welfare of a child and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree. Guilford was arraigned in the Town of Clarendon court and committed to the Orleans County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
