A free house, (but, you have to move it!)

This house, built in Hamlin 60 years ago by Cheryl Stevens' father and grandfather, is free to whomever has it moved to another location. Cheryl and her husband, Bob, bought the house about four years ago from the estate of Cheryl's aunt, Mary Jo Manfredo. They wish to build a bigger house where this house is located, (the house is too small for them and too costly to upgrade) and she would really like to see someone use the current house rather than demolish it. "It's been such a warm and memorable place in my life; I'd hate to waste it," Cheryl said. The lakefront house, which is winterized and was modernized 25 years ago, is estimated to be worth about $60,000. It is a one story, 940 sq. ft. building, with a utility room, three bedrooms, a kitchen, an L-shaped living room-porch combination (with a wood burning fireplace) and two baths. It has vinyl siding and all the windows on three sides of the house were replaced five years ago. The house has no basement, being built on piers, which should make it easier to move, the couple said. Contact Cheryl Stevens at 585-964-2277 for information. Photograph by Walter Horylev.
