BROCKPORT

•Reding, Michael E., On March 15, 2005 in Florida at the age of 80. He is survived by his beloved wife, Agnes of 60 years; their children, Ronald (Carolyn), Janice, Michael (Peggy), Maureen and Joseph; grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Jacobs and Sarah Reding; great-grandchildren, Emily, Christina and Adrianna. Michael was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company after 35 years. He served as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

A Funeral Mass was said March 18 at the Church of the Nativity B.V.M., Brockport. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the spring.


•Ruf, Dr. William A., Formerly of Brockport, died February 26, 2005 in North Andover, Massachusetts. Dr. Ruf accepted a position in the English Department at SUNY Brockport in 1948. While simultaneously earning an Ed. D. from the University of Buffalo (1960), he was a Professor of English and Literature, advisor to the college yearbook, and faculty advisor to the senior class. His sly humor and sparkling wit were showcased in his participation in plays in the Brockport Summer Arts Festival with his family and in the Faculty Quartet "Three Chiefs and an Indian" which sang at college events. He was named Professor Emeritus upon his retirement in 1974. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Weir) Ruf; loving daughters Elizabeth R. Field and her husband Kurt W. of Peoria, Illinois and Carolyn Ruf Warren; cherished granddaughters Kimberleigh J. Field of Phoenix, Arizona and Robin E. Field of Charlottesville, Virginia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside gathering in Gorham, New York in the spring. Memorial contributions can be made in Dr. Ruf's memory to the Center of Archeological Studies, Boston University, 675 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts 02215.


•Schultz, Joan H., on March 18, 2005 in Auburn, Indiana at age 65. She was a former head nurse in the E.R. at Lakeside Hospital, Brockport. She is survived by her husband, Marvin; daughters, Kathy (Paul) Golliff of Auburn, Indiana and Karen Schultz of Dallas, Texas and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held March 22 at Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, Indiana. Burial, Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn, Indiana. Donations can be made to the American Lung Association in her memory.


•Thompson Jr., Samuel "Sam" L., 62, died March 19, 2005 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by mother Laura Thompson of Albion; his wife of 30 years, Carrie; four children, Samuel Thompson of Rochester, J.W. (Jennifer) Thompson of Brockport, Shafreda and Samaria Thompson of Brockport; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Marlin (Susan) White of Florida, Jimmy Lee Thompson of Rochester, Harry (Zena) Hawkins of Buffalo; three sisters, Thomasene Lattimore, Lucy Ann Franklin, Jean Peterson all of Florida; mother and father-in-law, Judge and Jewell Pugh of Albion; two brothers-in-law, Aaron (Josie) Pugh of Albion, James (Shirley) Crews of Rochester; four sisters-in-law, Annie Johnson of Rochester, Eudonice (Fred) Rahming of Albion, Ruby Pugh of Rochester, Lillie (Charles) Salters of Alabama; and a host of relatives and friends. He is predeceased by father, Samuel Thompson Sr. and mother, Lucille Milton Thompson.

Funeral Services were held March 23 at the Merrill-Grinnell Funeral Home, Albion. Interment will be in Isles of Rest Cemetery, Carrabelle, Florida.


HOLLEY

•Maxon, Eleanor, Age 91, March 16, 2005. Predeceased by husband, Homer. Survived by daughter, Jane (Thomas) Bowdler; stepsons, Clyde (Ida) Maxon, Glenn (Joyce) Maxon; grandchildren; Thomas (Sue) Maxon, Sally Long, Scott (Cindy) Maxon, Amy Marquez, Charles (Jeanne) Maxon, Jeffrey Bowdler; Gregory Bowdler; eight great-grandchildren; Jason Maxon, Shawn Maxon, Cory Maxon, Trevor Long, Chase Long, Taylor Marquez, Rachel Mason and Sara Mason.

A Memorial Service was held March 19 at the Holley First Presbyterian Church. Interment in Hillside Cemetery in spring. Memorials can be made to the church.


OGDEN

•Smith, Sallie Reed, died March 6, 2005 three days after her 99th birthday. She was a long time resident of the Town of Ogden and member of Ogden Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald L. Smith, in 1955. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Reed Smith Stoll; her grandson Herman Donald Reed Stoll; and her dear friend, Mary Lou Maynard.

A Celebration of Life service was held March 15 at St. George's Episcopal Church, Hilton. Contributions can be made to "The Steeple Fund" at Ogden Presbyterian Church, 2400 South Union Street, Spencerport, NY 14559 in her memory.


SPENCERPORT

•Becker, Blair C. Jr., March 20, 2005 at age 58. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Foster) Becker; his son Brian (Michele) Becker; his daughter Susan (Craig) Kerley of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Megan and Madisen Becker, Trent and Chase Kerley; brother Ron (Donna) Becker of Oakfield; mother-in-law, Mary Snyder of LeRoy; several nieces, nephews, many loving relatives and friends. He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company following over 35 years of service and was Past President of the Oakfield Fire Department.

A Funeral Mass was said March 23 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or to GRHC/Hospice in his memory.


•Haworth, Richard T. Jr., March 18, 2005 at age 71. Predeceased by his grandson, David Profeta Jr. Survived by his wife Kay Haworth; his children, Linda Profeta (Doug) Ladd, Timothy (Deb) Haworth, Richard (Sue Ann) Dool, Robert (Pam) Dool, Steven Dool and Michael (Cheryl) Dool; his sister Jackie (Rich) Rypma; nine grandchildren; three great grand-children; several nieces and nephews. He was a retired Deputy Chief of the Eastman Kodak Company Fire Department with 35 years of service; Life Member with over 50 years of service to the Spencerport Volunteer Fire Department and was Fire Chief from 1977-1979; 40 year member of the Monroe County Fire Chief's Association; Charter member of the Spencerport Fireman's Exempt; Korean War veteran and a member of Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330.

A Memorial Service was held March 21 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Spencerport. Contributions can be made to GRHC/Hospice Inpatient Unit; Interlakes Oncology, 211 White Spruce Boulevard, Rochester 14623; Spencerport Volunteer Fire Department; or Spencerport Fireman's Exempt in his memory.


•Morgan, Bernard E. "Bernie," March 19, 2005. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Lorraine M. Morgan. Survived by his children, Joseph (Sharon) Morgan, Eileen (Joseph) Blakely, James (Nancy) Morgan and Patrick (Eileen) Morgan of Arizona; his nine grandchildren Brian and Andrew Morgan, Benjamin and Abigail Blakely, Brittany, Margaret and Elizabeth Morgan, Anna and Quinn Morgan; his sister Monica (George) McKinney; sister-in-law Mary Morgan; two brothers-in-law George Vincent and Bernard Voorheis; godsons Brian Voorheis and David DeWald; goddaughter and niece Vicky DeWald; several nieces and nephews. Bernie was Vice President of Quimby & Company and later was Rochester City Court Manager; Vice Mayor of Spencerport and he was a Village Trustee for 20 years; a long time member of the Spencerport Lions Club; an active member of the Rochester Theater Organ Society; an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post #330.

A Memorial Mass was said March 22 at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Contributions can be made to the Rochester Theater Organ Society Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 955, Nunda, NY 14517 or to the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance in his memory.


•Ozminkoski, Henry C., March 17, 2005, age 95. Survived by his wife, Jenat; children, Richard (Cheri) Ozminkowski, Carol Ozminkowski, Robert (Kathy) Ozminkowski, Thomas (Janet) Ozminkowski; brother, John (Margaret) Ozminkowski; sisters, Violet Wiegand, Florence (Ray) Kieliszak; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was said March 21 at St. John The Evangelist Church, Spencerport. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.
