The medical staff of Lakeside Memorial Hospital presented their 2004 Excellence in Nursing awards to Gail Ebbs, RN, and Patricia Moran, RN. The award is based on clinical judgment, compassion in patient care and interpersonal relationships with peers, other staff and physicians.

Ebbs has been employed at Lakeside Memorial Hospital for 20 years, mostly in the OB Department. She holds a national certification as an inpatient obstetrics nurse. Ebbs was instrumental in developing the perinatal loss support group at Lakeside and educating staff on this subject matter. Ebbs resides in Albion.

Moran has also been with Lakeside for 20 years and currently cares for patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Moran was instrumental in development of the PICC Team (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters) and continues her involvement as one of the nurses on the team. She also serves on several committees within the hospital. Moran resides in Lyndonville.

The winners were presented with a plaque and a monetary award at the medical staff annual holiday dinner. Their names are also added to a special Excellence in Nursing award plaque listing previous winners which is prominently displayed in the hospital.
