Residents sought for school superintendent committee

Spencerport school officials are seeking district residents who want to help select the next superintendent of schools.

The residents will be part of a committee that will interview six semi-finalist candidates, who will be selected next month. The committee will consist of representatives of students, parents with school-age children, and community members with no children currently in school.

The Board of Education will select the six top candidates from a list of recommended applicants screened by the search consultant, Dr. Christopher Manaseri, Monroe 2/Orleans BOCES superintendent. The committee will meet for an evening session on Monday, April 25 for training on the interview process and to tailor interview questions to the candidate profile developed through focus group sessions and surveys distributed to community and staff. The committee will meet during evening sessions with the six semi-finalists on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3 and 4. The committee will also meet on Thursday, May 5, to provide input to the board. Interested candidates for the committee must plan on attending all four sessions. The board will select the finalists, one of whom will be named superintendent on June 1.
