Springdale Farm hosts sheep shearing festival
Visitors can tour Visitor Education Center

Springdale Farm will host its annual Sheep Shearing Festival on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 696 Colby Street in Ogden. Highlights will include sheep shearing and wool cleaning and dyeing demonstrations. Alongside the sheep, children, too, can be "sheared." Those ages four to 12 can get free haircuts, compliments of Continental School of Beauty Culture. More festival favorites will include temporary tattoos, musical entertainment, plant sales, robotic milking center tours, storytelling and children's crafts and contests.

The cost is $3 for adults ages 12-62; $2 for youth ages three-11 and seniors age 63+; children ages two and under are free. There is family package pricing available for $8 for a family of four with each additional member costing $1 more.

Springdale Farm will also be celebrating the grand opening of the new Visitor Education Center. As the new entrance to Springdale Farm, the Visitor Education Center (VEC) will serve as the focal point of the farm experience, entertaining and educating guests with season exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities.
