Benefit dinner, season finale concert planned

Julia Figueras, the music director and midday host of WXXI-FM, will lead off the evening for the season finale of the Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Orchestra. Figueras will provide the pre-concert lecture before the Saturday, April 23 concert. Her presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in the Roberts Cultural Life Center's Hale Auditorium preceding the concert at 7:30 p.m.

Music Director Paul Shewan and the orchestra have been rehearsing with three RWC concerto competition winners, Roy Smith, Becki Boyanski and Kimberly Bright.

Tickets for the concert are available at the Roberts Box Office, 594-6008, for $7. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. All student admissions are free.

The Board of Directors of the Roberts Wesleyan College-Community Orchestra has planned a spaghetti dinner with all the trimmings for the evening of Saturday, April 23. Dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center in Pearce Memorial Church at the corner of the campus, Buffalo Road and Orchard Street in North Chili.

Dinner tickets are $10. The family maximum is $30. $2 is reduced from the dinner ticket when a ticket for the RWCCO concert, which follows at 7:30 p.m., is purchased at the same time. The concert, the season grand finale, will feature concerto winners and Julia Figueras from WXXI-FM and will be held in Hale Auditorium.
