Soccer Midfielder signs Letter of Intent

On April 8, Hilton soccer midfielder Marina Accordo (seated) signed a letter of intent to play for Division I "Red Flash," St. Francis University of Loretto, Pennsylvania. An academic scholar and soccer star, Marina has played for the Cadets since seventh grade. She also has played for the Greece Cobras coached by John Santoleri. "Marina is an asset to any team," her Hilton Varsity Soccer Coach Debra Lipani said. "She has a great work ethic and is a great leader." On hand for the signing was Coach Lipani, Coach Santoleri, Hilton Athletic Director Denney Wilcox, and her father, Stefano Accordo. She plans to study history and/or law at St. Francis. At Hilton High School she is an Academic Merit Scholar and received both Advanced Placement Scholar Awards as well as a National Honor Roll Award. In 2004 she was named Second Team All-County. In 2003 she was named to First Team All-County and Honorable Mention All-Greater Rochester.
