Books donated to Newman Riga Library

The Newman Riga Library, located in the Village of Churchville, received a gift of 100 new children's books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers. The books were a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City.

Donna Haire, director of the library said that, "in light of the declining numbers of readers in today's society, it is a privilege to work in a library small enough to allow for personal interaction with patrons. We like to think that a personal touch will allow us to inspire children to read more. We help choose books for them on a customized basis. To hook them in the most impressionable years is always our goal. This grant will enhance our small but well cultivated collection."

The library is located at 1 Village Park at the intersection of Buffalo Road and Main Street.
