Hamlin Lions Club sponsors diabetes screening

On Saturday, April 23, the Hamlin Lions Club in conjunction with TOPS Supermarket, Jamison Eye Care, and Unity Health Systems, held their semi-annual diabetes and glaucoma testing clinic.

At this clinic, people are tested, at no charge, for blood sugar levels (for diabetes) and pressure in the eyes to detect glaucoma. Over 40 people were tested, and the name of everyone tested was entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to TOPS. The winner of the drawing was Randy Fries of Hamlin.

Dr. Michelle Jamison, Kathy Ross, R.N., and TOPS Supermarket helped make the event a success, according to club members.
