Hilton Apple Fest celebrating 25 years

The Hilton Apple Fest board of directors are making plans for the 25th Hilton Apple Fest on October 1 and 2. The 2005 logo was chosen from the submitted entries. The winning entry was submitted by Jen Clark of Rochester, formerly of Hilton.

Many special events are being planned to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Apple Fest. A postmark, consisting of the 2005 logo, will be available at the festival on Saturday and also at the Hilton Post Office during October. Cake will be served to the first 500 attendees of the celebration on Saturday. The children's coloring contest will be available again this year. A new contest as well as the auto show will be held on Saturday. Family entertainment, food and crafts will be available each day.

The 18-foot pie pan that was used to bake the largest apple pie in 1982 will be resurrected this year and will become a collection point for food donations for the Hilton Food Shelf. Everyone is encouraged to bring a can to fill the pan.

The 2005 board of directors consists of President, Joe Lee; Vice-Presidents, Pat Clark, Faye Cole and Linda Viney; Secretary, Linda Viney; Treasurer, Bill Shirtz; and returning board members Kathy Bjornholm, Rick Bjornholm, Sylvia Greninger, Lill Griswold, Walt Horylev, Chris Moore, Terry Quetschenbach, Jim Sage, John Sage, Linda Schult.
