Rochester FC 14's victorious

The Rochester FC 14's were the champions of the Amherst International Memorial Tournament in Buffalo. Playing in the Erie premier U-14 bracket, the team started out with a 1-0 victory over Victory Express on Saturday. In their second game of the day the girls defeated Lobos 3-0. On Sunday, the team started with a 4-0 victory over previously unbeaten Pennine United and then followed up with an 8-0 win over Pittsburgh Football Club. In the championship game on Monday, the girls defeated North United 3-2. They displayed poise and teamwork throughout the tournament.

The team, part of the Rochester Futbol Club co-founded by former Rochester Lancer Nelson Cupello, plays in the Western Appalachian Region 1 Premier League and the Upstate Premier League.

The coaches dedicated the tournament championship trophy to the memory of their friend and former assistant coach Tim Cornish.

The team is coached by former New York State West Coach of the Year Demetri (Dan) Guzylak and Bob McCarthy.
