Steven Battisti has been named a Presidential Scholar for the second consecutive semester at Clarkson University. He is an interdisciplinary engineering and management major.

Battisti is also starting left midfielder on the Clarkson soccer team.


Alfred State College has announced the dean's list of students for the spring 2005 semester.

Students from this area include: Timothy Boerschlein of Churchville; Daniel LaDue of Hamlin; Adam Bodratti, Jamie Bucci and Jeffrey Hanson, all of Hilton; Zachary DeRuyter and Matthew Ruf, both of Spencerport.


Michelle E. Roller, daughter of Ann and Brian Roller of Hilton, has graduated from State University of New York at Fredonia with a bachelor's degree in childhood education. She has been employed by the Aldine School District in Houston, Texas and is participating in a teaching internship in England.


Lindsey Ingraham graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University on May 29. A graduate of Hilton High School in 2001, she is the daughter of Scott and Linda Ingraham.


Jeffrey Richard Faulks of Hilton has graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in business management with honors. He studied in RIT's College of Business. Faulks is the son of Stephanie Faulks of Hilton and Theodore Faulks of Hilton and is a 2001 graduate of Hilton High School.


Jessica Adams, daughter of Daniel and Rosemary Adams of Greece, has been awarded an academic scholarship from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She will be majoring in exercise and sports sciences and psychology and is the first student from New York state to attend Meredith College. She will be graduating from Hilton High School on June 25 and is a member of Hilton's National Honor Society. Adams has also been listed in Who's Who Among America's High School Students and in the National Honor Roll of America's Students for her high academics.


Kelly E. Cholewa, daughter of Bertram and Nancy Cholewa of Spencerport, has been named to the Ohio Northern University dean's list for the spring quarter 2004-05. She is a sophomore majoring in civil engineering.


Elizabeth A. VanDeusen, a resident of Adams Basin, received a bachelor of fine arts degree cum laude in art and design from the School of Art and Design at Alfred University during commencement exercises May 14.

VanDeusen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William R. VanDeusen V of Adams Basin. She is a graduate of Brockport High School.


Jessica Lynne Arno of Kendall has been named to the spring 2005 dean's list at SUNY Oswego. A graduate of Kendall Jr./Sr. High School, she is the daughter of Keith and Susan Arno.


Shlynn Kay Ciciotti of Hilton has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for the spring 2005 semester. She is a 2000 graduate of Hilton Central School and is the daughter of David and Kathy Ciciotti.


Linda Fogarassy of Churchville has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for the spring 2005 semester. She is a 2002 graduate of Byron-Bergen High School and is the daughter of Carol and Gabe Fogarassy.


Matthew James Faulks received an appointment in the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York. He will embark on a four-year course of study and training to qualify as a merchant marine and naval reserve officer. He is the son of Stephanie Faulks and Theodore Faulks, both of Hilton.
