Volunteers recognized at Lakeside event

Volunteers of Lakeside Health System were recognized at an Inspire by Example appreciation dinner. Lakeside recognizes the value of its 50 volunteers who donated their time over the past year. Lakeside volunteers provided essential services including transporting patients, staffing the main information desk, sorting and delivering mail, general office duties and many other tasks. Volunteers also drive residents of the care center to outings and doctor appointments and assist in recreational activities, reading and writing for residents.

"Volunteers make a valuable contribution to this organization. The hours they donate save Lakeside hundreds of thousands of dollars, and we appreciate their time and effort," Michael Perry, interim CEO of Lakeside Health System said.

The following 50 volunteers were recognized and received pins noting their many hours of service as well as recognizing those who have volunteered for many years. 18,000 hours - Sadie Wilson, 12,000 hours - Sue Sisk, 8,500 hours - Charlie McCullough, 8,000 hours - Donald Cuthbert, 7,500 hours - Jean Grimm, 6,000 hours - Joan Smith, Ida Neubert, 5,500 hours - Alice Mae Fulton, 5,000 hours - Carolyn Cole, Barb Dalrymple, Darlene Strussenberg; 4,500 hours Diane Brunelle, Doris Freel; 4,000 hours - Hilda Cater, Harold Coleman, John Leschander; 3,500 hours - Ebbie Kenyon, Mavis Kenyon, Jean Wortman, John Wortman, 3,000 hours - Henry Miller, Patricia Sherman, Bill Wright; 2,500 hours - Marge Corcoran, Eben Stephens, Grace Stitzer, June Stock; 2,000 hours - Jo Blossom, Barb Downes, Joe Laws, Kathy Smith, Russ Swanger; 1,500 hours - Joanne Blank, Linda Hill, Betty Slater; 1,000 hours - Cleta Beahan, Bunnie Beardsley, Nina Mayes, June Riggi; and 500 hours - Rudy Aceto, Carter Bigley, Marilyn Bigley, Wally Brunelle, Pat Hardenbrook, Joan Hilton, Eddie Hundt, Barb Klafehn, Nancy Rapp, Rosemary Smith, Gisela Walter.

Lakeside also recognized 11 high school seniors that were part of the New Visions Program that is a professional career exploration program. Combined, these college-bound students served 1,350 hours in numerous fields and departments throughout the Health System. Additionally, two Interns, Amanda Jennings and Jacqulyn Sommer, from SUNY Brockport were recognized for their service on the Foundation and Community Relations team for 400 hours combined.
