Quest Elementary Fun Day promotes science

Hilton's Quest Elementary School students found out "What Makes a Rodent a Rodent?" as well as how pistons and cylinders fire among the more than 50 workshops and demonstrations held June 9 at the Annual Science Fun Day organized by teachers Greg Booth and Darrel Dupra. The workshops exposed students to physical science such as the "Wonderful, Wild and Sometimes Weird World of Science" presented by Rochester Museum and Science Center teacher Dr. Calvin Uzelmeier, left, physical chemist. Science Fun Day allows students to put their hands on science, according to Principal Lydia McCabe, and to learn how a heart works, how to test water quality, archeology, circuits optical illusions, as well as the "Magic and Mysteries of Dry Ice."
