Arc of Orleans planning for gala event

Mark Twain and Jill Kelly, two Buffalo notables, will be co-stars on September 10 when Arc of Orleans presents its Signature Series program. This event with formal dining, dancing, auction and twin receptions has grown into Orleans County's premiere social gala and this year it will return to the Holiday Inn, just off the NYS Thruway at Batavia.

Mike Randall, on-air staff member at WKBW television, will portray American writer Mark Twain.

Filling out the evening will be Jill Kelly, wife of the Buffalo Bills' former quarterback Jim Kelly and also CEO of a foundation called "Hunter's Hope," named after her son and dedicated to work on a disease called Krabbe Leukodystrophy.

Kelly will make her appearance at the September gala to make remarks on behalf of the foundation's work and also to accept a monetary award for the organization.

Over the past three years Arc of Orleans has established its annual September gala as a prime means of directing attention to a dozen separate human service programs offered by Arc at ten different sites.

A collection of silent auction items will fill an entire room at the Holiday Inn. Ticket sales and sponsor arrangements are available at Arc of Orleans headquarters in Albion, 585-589-5516, ext. 228.
