Heather N. Lucarelli of Churchville and Martin A. Berke of Hilton have been awarded merit scholarships at SUNY Oswego.


Students were named to the Niagara University academic dean's list for the spring 2005 semester. Those from this area are:

Brandi Knapp, of Spencerport has achieved the dean's list at SUNY College at Brockport for fall and spring of 2004/05. She is a 1999 graduate of Spencerport High School and is the daughter of Bob and Jennifer Welch.


Amanda Broadway of Brockport has been named to the spring 2005 dean's list at The College of Saint Rose in Albany.


Nicole L. Rister graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania on May 7 with a bachelor of science degree in education, cum laude. While at Edinboro, Rister pursued a double major in elementary and special education. She was a member of Phi Sigma Pi Honors Society and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.

Rister has accepted a teaching position at McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania for the 2005-2006 school year. She will also pursue her master's degree in the following year.


John Pelin of Brockport completed requirements for a bachelor's degree in management from Gettysburg College and graduated on May 15.

With a student body of approximately 2,400, Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park. The college was founded in 1832.


Patrick Hastings of Nothnagle Realtors has earned Sales Person of the Month for the Chili Ogden Office for May with eight closed transactions.

Among other awards received during his career are: Top Agent for 2004 which he has won each consective year since 1997; the Sales Master Gold Award for the past seven years, which is given to agents who have closed 60 or more transactions in one year; Top 25 and the Zenith and Pinnacle Awards which are given by the Women's Council of Rochester.

Hastings has 26 years of experience in real estate and has a production level of $9.5 million in sales.


SSgt. Duane Eddy was recently assigned to the U.S. Air Force recruiting office in Greece.

Eddy, originally from North Tonawanda, is a graduate of the Air Force Recruiting School in San Antonio, Texas, where he was trained in various areas of study, including the job classification system, testing and enlistment processing procedures and public speaking.

Prior to Eddy's assignment here, he was stationed in Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, as a Fuels Resource Control Center Journeyman. He has also served at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, and at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. Eddy currently residents in Spencerport with his wife and two children.


Army Pvt. Kyle A. Coolack has graduated from the Light-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Maryland.

Coolack is the son of Dave and Sue M. Coolack of Kendall. He is a 2002 graduate of Kendall High School.


Army National Guard Spec. Erik J. Bushart has graduated from the petroleum supply specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Virginia.

He is the son of James R. and Linda L. Bushart of North Chili. His wife, Leanne, is the daughter of Philip D. and Marge Prouty of North Chili. The specialist is a 1995 graduate of Churchville-Chili Senior High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2000 from Roberts Wesleyan College.
