AREA

Hartmann, Paul F., April 7, 2005 after a long illness at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his beloved son, David M. Hartmann, who died September 1, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Mildred M. Hartmann; his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul H. and Lynne of Holley, Carl of Ogden, Daniel and Deborah of Hilton; his granddaughter, Amanda. He was a veteran of WWII, a member of the DAV, retiree of Eastman Kodak Company and a member of the Rochester Musicians Union.

A Memorial Service was held July 9 at First Bible Baptist Church. Contributions can be made to First Bible Baptist Church in his memory.


Nowak, Bertha M. (Jarosinski), June 28, 2005. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leo (Donna) Nowak; three granddaughters, Cheryl (Jim) Jordain, North Carolina, Charlene LaPlant, Michell (Matthew) Rist; four great-grandchildren, David and Jessica Jordain, North Carolina and Justin and Sara LaPlant; sister, Irene (Steve) Wolack; brother-in-law, Casey Tyll; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A Memorial Mass was said July 2 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Brockport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to the Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, 170 West Avenue, Brockport 14420 in her memory.


Swisher, Lloyd K., July 3, 2005. Survived by his loving wife, Beverly; four children, Hartmut (Lisa) Swisher; Kirsten (Aiman) Nakhal, Gary (Patricia) Hoag, James (Mamie) Hoag; 13 grandchildren, Ryan, Jordan and Benjamin Swisher, Junaya, Iman, Ibrahim, Ahmed and Sarah Nakhal, Kyle and Kristin Hoag, Jimmy, Emily and Jennifer Hoag; brother, Theodore Swisher; sister, Edna (Robert) Rath; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lloyd was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a founding member of Ron Ink.

Funeral Services were held July 8 at the Leo M. Bean Funeral Home. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 595 Blossom Road, Suite 208, Rochester 14610 or the White Church, 65 Church Street, Spencerport 14559 in his memory.


ALBION

Niehaus, Doralee S., 72, died July 4, 2005 at Orleans County Nursing Home after a long illness. She was a self-employed seamstress who worked at Landauer's Store and also the old Santa Claus School where she made the Santa suits. She was a member of the Gaines Carlton Community Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard; three children, Dale (Kim) Niehaus of Waterport, John (Nina) Niehaus of Washington, Anne (Mike) Schue of Colorado, grandson, Thomas Niehaus of Waterport; brother, Jerome (Janice) Schutzler of Washington; sister, Elaine Dinsel of Oregon; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held July 9 at the Gaines Carlton Community Church. Interment, Mount Albion Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Habitat for Humanity or Gaines Carlton Community Church.


BROCKPORT

Burley, Robert E., Age 82. June 21, 2005 in New City, New York. Survived by wife, Vera of New City; daughters, Barbara of Haverstraw, Susan Paine of Florida; son, Robert of New City; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mary Kovsh; brother, Herbert Burley of Brockport; sister, Emma Weader of Holley; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Burley of Spencerport, Irene Burley of Brockport; brother-in-law, John (Margaret) Kovsh of Hicksville; many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Military Funeral was held.


MacCollum, James E. "Jimmy Mac," age 46, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, formerly of Brockport, died suddenly July 5, 2005 at Conway Hospital in Conway, South Carolina. Jimmy was the owner of Jimmy Mac's Bar and Grill. He was also a member of the Brockport BPO Elks Lodge #2110 and the Brockport Area Vet's Club. He was predeceased by a sister Kathy Gill. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Mac-Collum of Brockport; brothers, Tom (Jacqueline) MacCollum of Baldwinsville, Tim (Alicia) MacCollum of Liverpool; sisters, Karen (Mike) Donegan of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Nancy (John) Leotta of Fulton; his parents, Thomas and Dorothy MacCollum of Liverpool; the mother of his daughter, Vicky MacCollum of Brockport; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Jimmy's life will be held Sunday, July 10, 2005 at the Brockport Area Veterans Club beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family in care of James Bell, Esq., 6076 Brockport-Spencerport Road, Brockport, NY 14420.


Sebastian, Mary C., On Saturday, July 2, 2005. She is survived by two sons, Emelio (Lucy) and Thomas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fannie Gueli, Natalie Indiano, Antiontte Chantra; several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was held July 6 at the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc., Brockport. Interment, Lake View Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Lakeside Foundation in her memory.


CHURCHVILLE

Mason, E. Lucile, July 4, 2005 at age 99. She is predeceased by her husband Harry E. Mason, her son William C. Mason, Sr., her granddaughter Lucile Allyn and her great grandson Kevin R. Mason. She is survived by her children Gerald (Jean) Mason, Barbara D. Heeg, both of Churchville, and Janet H. Allyn of Maryland; her 15 grandchildren; her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Lucile was a member of Churchville United Methodist Church, Nolatka Chapter #338 O.E.S. and Ivy Rebekah Lodge #51.

HAMLIN

Rath, William John, age 93, died June 29, 2005. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Schildt Rath and grandchildren, Paula Leigh and Craig William Rath; son-in-law, Richard Bliss; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Rath. He is survived by his children, Paul (Sandy), Charles, David (Louise) and Anne (Tom) Elphick; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Leverenz; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a retired dairy farmer and a life long resident of Hamlin and a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

A Memorial Service was held July 2 at St. John Lutheran Church, Hamlin. Private interment at Lakeside Cemetery. Donations can be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Lakeside Beikirch Care Center, Brockport in his memory.


HILTON

Blossom, Ernest L. Sr., July 1, 2005, age 78. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret; granddaughter, Samantha. Survived by his children, Larry (Kim) Blossom, Mary Jo (Chris) Denninger, Lorre (Alex) Sigismondi, Jeff (Emily) Blossom, Karen (Greg) Blodgett, Amy (Duane) Eigbrett; brothers, Howard (Betty) Blossom, Kenny (Joan) Blossom; sisters, Evelyn Wright, Phyllis (Ralph) Bobzin, Merle (Francis) Murphy; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Castle, Gordon N., June 29, 2005, age 88. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marie (Lebeck) Castle; his children, Carol (Edward) Mooney, William (Frances) Castle, Betty Jean (Steven) Lockhart, Robert (Mary) Castle, Kay (Ron) Schoeffler and Richard (Rita) Castle; brother, Robert (Barbara) Castle; sisters, Mavis Rector and Ruth Castle; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Garbutt, Ruby B., June 28, 2005, age 82. She is survived by her husband, Howard; her brother, Robert Bardeen (Barbara Powell); four step-children, Richard, Todd and Debbie Garbutt, Mary (Chris) Rincon; 10 step-grandchildren; four step-great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; a special grand-niece, Melissa (Jason) Slocum. Ruby was twice Past Matron of Leah Chapter O.E.S. #183, Kodak retiree.

SPENCERPORT

Thrush, William Everett "Billy," Suddenly, Thursday, June 30, 2005 at age 20. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Everett Thrush and his uncle William Fogarty. Beloved son of Dennis V. Thrush and Ann (Chris) Pavlick; also survived by his brother Bradley (Amy) Thrush; his maternal grandparents Meg Armer and Patrick Fogarty; his parental grandmother Katherine Thrush; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends.

A Funeral Mass was said July 2 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made to the Spencerport Volunteer Fire Department in his memory.
