Court of Honor held for three Eagle Scouts in Troop 165

Boy Scout Troop 165 held a Court of Honor on May 22 to recognize Jacob Fien, Trevor Kent and Phillip Roushey for earning the rank of Eagle. To earn the rank of Eagle, a scout must earn 21 merit badges, hold leadership positions with the troop and complete an approved community service project.

Jacob Fien has earned 32 merit badges, earned the Ad Altare Dei Religious Award, is a member of the Order of the Arrow, and has held many leadership positions in the troop. He will be a senior at Spencerport High School this fall. Jacob worked at Camp Massawepie in the kitchen, and helped with Order of the Arrow Ceremonies this past summer. His Eagle Project was working on the Canal View Nature Center and building a bluebird trail for Canal View. Jacob is the son of David and Karen Fien of Spencerport.

Trevor Kent earned the Arrow of Light as a cub scout and crossed over into boy scouts earning 21 merit badges, is a member of the Order of the Arrow, and has held many leadership positions in the troop. He is presently attending Alfred University working towards a BFA in art and design. His Eagle Project was to build cat cages for G.R.A.S.P., a community organization devoted to helping stray pets. Trevor is the son of Donald and Candace Kent of Spencerport.

Phillip Roushey earned the Arrow of Light as a cub scout and crossed over into boy scouts earning 26 merit badges, is a member of the Order of the Arrow, and has held many leadership positions in the troop. Phillip worked at Camp Massawepie for two years helping younger scouts earn merit badges. Phillip is presently attending Houghton College studying Bible. His Eagle project was to clean out and organize the attic of his church. Phillip is the son of Robert and Karen Roushey of Troy, Michigan.

Master of Ceremonies was Jim Hossenlopp. Scoutmaster Gary Hampton and Committee Chairman Rick Stoffel, along with many of the scouts from the troop, participated in the ceremony. The ceremony was held at St. John the Evangelist Church, Spencerport.
