Auxiliary seeks volunteers

Flotilla 4-8 needs a few good men and women to become members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is a public service organization made up of civilians, open to both men and women who are age 17 or older and a citizen of the United States. The purpose of the Coast Guard Auxiliary is to assist the United States Coast Guard in any of its missions except law enforcement or military actions. Members volunteer their time, talents, life experience, vessels, and radios and are given special training in order to work with Team Coast Guard.

Since 9-11 the Auxiliary has been meeting the needs of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security with direct support as Watchstanders, Mechanics, Administrative and Boat Crew. Auxiliarists bring many things to the boating public including adult education classes and Boating Fun and Waypoints for K-6 grades, vessel safety checks and marine safety all enhance the boating experience.

Flotilla 4-8 is seeking new members willing to expand their life experiences and willing to be trained for new experiences. Call 964-2551 for information.
