Long-time Brockport resident honored for service to community

Richard "Bud" Gearhart, long-time member of the Brockport community and a 27 year veteran of Rotary, was the subject of a roast prior to his and his wife Ann's departure for South Carolina. Gearhart has a long history of service to the community. He has been involved with the BOCES II Board of Directors, the Brockport Central School Board of Directors and the Lakeside Board of Directors. A former president of Brockport Rotary, he has also been a Rotary District 7120 Assistant Governor and has been responsible for bringing many persons into Rotary. At the dinner, the Brockport Club made him an honorary member, District 7120 Governor Eric Parker presented him with a proclamation honoring his service to the district, and Assistant District Governor Liz Richardson gave him a clock plaque. Fred Kimmel, the MC, and several club members spoke humorously of Gearhart's past.
