Boy Scout
Troop 04
visits Yosemite National Park

The scouts from Troop 04 in Spencerport visited Yosemite National Park in California in July and spent nine days on a high adventure trip of a lifetime. Thirty scouts and adult leaders flew to San Francisco then drove to Yosemite for a week of hiking and alpine adventure. The boys were treated to treks through giant Sequoia groves, swimming in alpine lakes and hiking galore. Yosemite Park is famous for its majestic waterfalls and this year was spectacular due to above average snowfall and spring rains. While in the area, the group also visited San Francisco as part of the trip. There they visited Muir Woods and hike among the giant coastal redwood trees and took a Bay cruise that included close up views of the Golden Gate bridge and Alcatraz. Troop 04 holds an annual pasta dinner fundraiser to help support such high adventure trips for the boys. The troop is affiliated with the Spencerport Assembly of God Church, 3940 Canal Road, Spencerport.
