Mary Matalin and James Carville

Successful authors, actors, talk show hosts, political consultants, political commentators, and Washington's best-loved couple, Mary Matalin and James Carville, are the featured speakers at Lakeside Foundation's 17th Annual Gala Dinner.

Individually, Matalin and Carville achieved great success in their careers as political consultants for Republican and Democratic candidates, respectively. Incisive, insightful and entertaining, James Carville is renowned for his razor-sharp wit and penetrating analysis of the political world. One of the nation's hardest hitting conservative political commentators and Carville's favorite debate partner, Mary Matalin brings an insider perspective to her analysis of the corridors of power and America's future.

Together, Matalin and Carville authored All's Fair: Love, War and Running for President, which spent eight weeks on The New York Times best seller list. Each is an accomplished author. Among others, Carville wrote We're Right, They're Wrong: A Handbook for Spirited Progressives and Matalin wrote Letters to My Daughters. In the fall of 2003, they put a different spin on television and political consulting when they could be seen in the HBO series K Street, a political drama based on working lives of Washington political consultants. Each has hosted CNN's Crossfire and they enjoy sharing the spotlight.

Matalin and Carville follow a long list of distinguished speakers including Generals Colin Powell, Tommy Franks and Norman Schwarzkopf, Rudy Giuliani, Madeleine Albright, Walter Cronkite, John Majors, Presidents George Bush and Gerald Ford, Jack Kemp, former first ladies Barbara Bush, Rosalynn Carter and Betty Ford, Dan and Marilyn Quayle, C. Everett Koop and Jeanne Kirkpatrick.

This year's annual gala dinner will be held on Friday, December 9 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. To make a reservation, call Lakeside Foundation at 395-6049.
