Adam McWilliams of Rochester has graduated from the Syracuse University School of Architecture. He received a bachelor's degree in architecture.


Katharine Voorheis of Spencerport has been named to the dean's list at Syracuse University's School of Education.


The following students enrolled in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University were named to the dean's list for the spring 2005 semester: Shannon Ealy of Spencerport, who is majoring in magazine journalism; and Kathleen Foley of Spencerport, who is majoring in public relations.


Jennifer Mosblack of Rochester has earned a bachelor of science degree in child and family studies from Syracuse University College of Human Services and Health Professions.


Spencerport High School graduate Emily Knight received an $8,000 scholarship award from Johnson Controls Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Johnson Controls, Inc. Knight's father, Joseph Knight, is a Johnson Controls employee.


The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recognized Mindy Bader for her efforts in a pursuit of higher education and future career as an educator. Each year the Alpha Alpha Chapter honors young women at their annual Katharine M. Reichel Breakfast. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society is an educational, honorary and professional organization for women educators.

Bader, of Brockport, was awarded the Katharine M. Reichel Award. The Katharine M. Reichel Award honors an outstanding high school senior who will pursue a career in education and study at SUNY Brockport. Bader is a recent graduate of Brockport High School and will begin studying education at SUNY College at Brockport in the fall.


The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International recognized Katie Pearson for her effort in a pursuit of higher education and future career as an educator. Each year the Alpha Alpha Chapter honors young women at their annual Katharine M. Reichel Breakfast. The Delta Kappa Gamma Society is an educational, honorary and professional organization for women educators.

Pearson, of Holley, was awarded the Joy Kinz Award. Last year, Pearson was awarded the Dorothy E. Foster Award, which honors an outstanding woman entering her second year at SUNY Brockport. She received the Katherine M. Reichel Award in 2003. Pearson will be entering her junior year at SUNY College at Brockport. She is pursuing a major in health science and teacher certification.

Walker, of Brockport, was awarded the Dorothy E. Foster Award for entering her second year at SUNY College at Brockport. Last year, Walker received the Katharine M. Reichel Award. Walker is working towards her teacher certification at SUNY Brockport, and concentrating her studies on arts for children.


Kathi A. Rickman, CMC, Town Clerk/Tax Receiver of the Town of Hamlin, has been awarded the designation of "Certified Municipal Clerk" (CMC) from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) for achieving its high educational, experience and service requirements.

Rickman has been employed with the Town of Hamlin since January 1986, serving as Deputy Town Clerk before being elected to her current position of Town Clerk/Tax Receiver in April 1989.

She attained her designation as Certified Municipal Clerk through completion of the IIMC-approved Municipal Clerks Institute Program conducted by the Department of Applied Economics and Management, Community and Rural Development Institute, Cornell University, Ithaca. This program provides more than 100 student/instructor contact hours of in-depth courses in managerial and leadership skills, social and interpersonal concerns and technical training needed to deal with changes taking place in government today.

Active in professional affiliations, she is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, New York State Town Clerks Association, New York State Tax Receiver/Tax Collectors and Monroe County Town Clerks and Tax Receivers.


Robert Fenity, son of Lawrence and Mary Pat Fenity of Spencerport, is a recipient of the dean's award for academic excellence during the spring 2005 semester at Colgate University where he is a member of the Class of 2006. A 2002 graduate of Spencerport High School, he is concentrating in political science and art history at Colgate.


Amanda Piatek, a 2003 Churchville-Chili graduate and the daughter of Henry and Rosalie Piatek has been named to the spring 2005 dean's list at Keuka College. Piatek, a sophomore, is studying occupational therapy.


Melissa Sue Greenlaw, daughter of James and Laurie Greenlaw of Hamlin and a graduate of SUNY Brockport, has been awarded the Lea Cowles Masters Award for her superb academic achievement.

She is majoring in psychology/early childhood education.


James J. Pernicano graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington.

He is the son of Samuel M. and Jane E. Pernicano of North Chili. Pernicano graduated in 2000 from McQuaid Jesuit High School, Rochester, and is currently attending the State University of New York College at Brockport.


Andrew M. Kirchhoff graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge" at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington.

He is the son of Keith and Mona A. Kirchhoff of Brockport. The cadet is a 2001 graduate of Brockport High School, and is currently attending the State University of New York College at Brockport.


Army Pvt. Kyle A. Coolack has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He is the son of Sue Coolack of Kendall. The private is a 2001 graduate of Kendall High School.
