Ground-breaking August 17 for Hilton senior project

Sandra MacWilliam, president for Unity Health System's Center for Aging and Continuing Care Services, points out Mr. and Mrs. Cottrone to the audience at a meeting officially announcing the Hilton Park Senior Housing Project. Mr. Cottrone was the original developer and builder for Hilton's Unionville Station senior housing project; Hilton Park will be located at the extreme west end of Unionville Station. MacWilliam announced that the Unity Health project, a two-story, 69 unit apartment building, "should have a grand opening in the fall of 2006."

Sandra MacWilliam, Cheryl Dinolfo, Hilton Mayor Bill Carter and Thomas VanNortwick, Buffalo District Director, NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal, unveil a drawing of the facade of the apartment building. The one and two bedroom apartments for adults 55 and older will be available for rent beginning in the fall of 2006. (Eight applications have already been received). Each apartment will include major kitchen appliances, air conditioning, cable TV hook-up, washer and dryer hook-up, a patio or balcony, elevators, easy access for the handicapped and an emergency call system. There will also be a community/multi-purpose room and lounge for residents to use. Funding for the Unity Health System project will include $350,000 in federal help through a low interest loan from the Federal Home Loan Bank and $300,000 from the Home Investment Partnership Program.
