Sallye Rapp Stutzman, of North Chili, graduated from SUNY College at Brockport with a master of arts degree in liberal studies in health sciences. She is a 1964 graduate of Monroe High School (Rochester), and graduate of SUNY Brockport. he is the wife of Richard W. Stutzman.


Rachel Maxon has been named a 2005 dean's scholar at SUNY College at Brockport for academic achievements. Each dean's scholar must be in the top 25 percent of their class, have a grade point average of 90 or better and 1100 SAT or 24 ACT score. The scholarship includes partial board and is valued at $2,500 annually.


Emily Caton daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Scott B. Caton was named to the dean's list for the spring 2005 semester at the John Hopkins University. She majored in international studies and graduated in May 2005. She was a graduate of Spencerport High School.


The following students have been promoted by Kyoshi Mark A. Caparco of Caparco Martial Arts: Richard McKeown, of Henrietta and Sean Grozek, of Greece, first degree in Aiki Jujutsu; Trevor Benson, of Gates, Junior Black Belt.


Katie Lebeck from Holley was appointed director for the fall 2005 semester at SUNY Brockport's radio station 89.1 The Point. Lebeck, a 2003 graduate of Holley High School, has previously been involved at the station as a news announcer.


Students from the Churchville-Chili Central School District joined with more than 350 students to attend the one- and two-week sessions at the University of Rochester in a program called Rochester Scholars. Freshman Laura Serio and sophomore Tony Melia participated as did seventh grader Ben Dillenbeck, who attended Rochester Scholars Jr.

Throughout the sessions students experienced college in a fun-filled, hands-on way by participating in a variety of mini-courses reflective of the areas of study available at the U of R. Sessions included courses in philosophy, engineering, writing, film, physics, medicine, psychology, law and more.

Prudential K.A.R.E.S. Realty announced the addition of Gus Zaso as associate broker agent. Zaso has been providing real estate services on the westside and throughout the Rochester area since 1976. A Gates/Chili resident for more than 40 years, he has won numerous top sales awards and received numerous accreditations. Along with specializing in residential home sales, relocation and new construction, Zaso will be managing the McCormick Place adult community of homes in Brockport.
