Quilt show auction raises $3,000

North Chili Quilt Show, sponsored by United Methodist Church of North Chili, was a success in spite of inclement weather. The auction, to benefit Flower City Habitat for Humanity's Westside Coalition of Churches projects, raised $3,000.

Dedicated, creative area stitchers brought more than 250 ABC baby quilts which filled the church sanctuary and set a show record. They will be donated to Strong Hospital for several programs serving at-risk children.

For the first time in the show's 28 year history, there was a double winner of the Viewers' Choice ribbons: Judith Laurini's "12 Days of Christmas" bed quilt and her "Stroll in the Imperial Garden" wall quilt won both awards.
