Sharing Spaces: Two exhibits in one at SUNY Brockport

The SUNY College at Brockport Department of Art and the Tower Fine Arts Gallery present dual exhibitions: Walking On Water Print Exchange and Elmira College Art Faculty Invitational. The exhibitions open on Tuesday, October 4, with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. and close on Sunday, October 30. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.

Walking On Water is a thematic printmaking portfolio exchange developed by SUNY Brockport Associate Professor of Art Debra Fisher. The participants include SUNY Brockport art department faculty, national and international artists. Under the umbrella term of printmaking, the participating artists use a wide variety of media, including woodcuts, intaglio, lithography and more. The general theme of the works involves interpersonal relationships to water.

The Tower Fine Arts Gallery has also invited the Elmira College Department of Art faculty to exhibit their creative activities. The participants include Leslie Kramer, printmaker; Jan Kather, photographer; Douglas Holtgrewe, ceramist; Derek Chalfant, sculptor; and Marc Dennis, painter.

Gallery hours: Monday - Thursday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday: 1 to 4 p.m. For information, call (585) 395-2805. The Tower Fine Arts Gallery will be closed Sunday, October 16, to Tuesday, October 18, for Fall Break. Parking at Tower Fine Arts Center: Weekdays: Until 6:30 p.m., parking permits are required to park in any of the lots in proximity to Tower Fine Arts Center. These free permits can be obtained at the Raye H. Conrad Welcome Center at the corner of New Campus and Commencement Drives. Evenings and Weekends: After 6:30 p.m. on weekdays, and throughout the weekend, parking is not regulated. Metered parking is available east of Tower and across Holley Street.
