Springdale Farm schedules autumn events

Springdale Farm, located at 696 Colby Street in Spencerport, will celebrate Harvest Days on October 1, 8, 15 and 22. There will be activities for the children including: hay castle, pedal tractors, corn husk teepee, petting zoo, children's garden and carriage rides.

The farm will be selling concessions in addition to homemade pies, apples, cider and donuts. Decorate a pumpkin, purchase a bouquet from Flower Fields at Springdale Farm or check out the products in the County Store. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission onto the farm is free. Dairy Barn tours will be 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and the tour fee is $3 for adults, $2 for seniors and youth and free for children under two years of age.

Springdale Farm's annual Scarecrow Festival will be on Saturday, October 29. The farm features scarecrow displays, live music, pumpkins, fishing, corn husk dolls and the petting zoo in addition to wagon and mini-horse carriage rides. Mix 100.5 FM will be on hand for the "Needle in the Haystack" contest and there will be a Costume Contest at 1 p.m. for youth 16 and under. Tours of the Riedman Robotic Milking Center will be included in festival admission.

Festival admission is $3 for adults, ages 12-62; $2 for youth, ages three to 11 and seniors age 63+; children age two and under are free. Take advantage of the family package pricing: $8 for a family of four with each additional member costing $1 more.
