Ciliberto scores in OT

Junior Jenna Ciliberto scored in the first overtime session to give Churchville-Chili a 1-0 victory in girl's soccer at Brockport.

Ciliberto's goal came in the 89th minute of play following a scoreless regulation. With just 33 seconds remaining in the first extra period, Erin Leonard came up with the ball after a scramble near the top of the box in the Brockport end. A deflection found Ciliberto open and she put the ball in the upper right corner of the net.

Brockport had the better of play in the first half and had a scoring opportunity in the 16th minute when Michelle Roberts, celebrating her 16th birthday on game day, was open on the left side. Her shot was one of ten saves registered by Saints goalkeeper Liz Zorn.

C-C came out strong in the second half but missed on two glorious chances in the opening five minutes. Kristen Spaulding and then Morgan Skiff each had point blank shots stopped and, just one minute later, Ashlee Magar shot high.

The Blue Devils' Chelsea Hunt put a direct kick over the crossbar in the 59th minute and Geni Glynn had her shot stopped by Zorn in the 70th minute.

Brockport keeper Rachel Popowych saved three of Churchville-Chili's 10 shots. The Blue Devils evened their record at 3-3-1 while the Saints improved to 4-0 in league, 4-2 overall.
