Amanda Datro, a 2004 graduate of Brockport High School, has achieved the dean's list at SUNY University at Stony Brook with a 4.0 for both the fall and spring semesters of the academic year 2004-05. She was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, October 1. She also qualfied for the National Dean's List for 2004-05. She has accepted a Chancellor's Scholarship to Syracuse University for fall 2005, where she will continue her studies in social work.

Datro resides in Adams Basin with her parents, Al and Nancy Datro.


Nazareth College's School of Management announced that Laura Rupp, a junior accounting major from Spencerport, was one of three winners of this year's Rotenberg & Company Scholarship. Rotenberg & Company, LLP, a Rochester firm of certified public accountants, gives the scholarship to students who demonstrate excellence in academics and contributions to the community.

Rupp received a $3,000 scholarship and is interning this fall at Rotenburg & Company, LLP.


Millie Key of Hilton has been appointed membership chair of the Monroe County Federation of Social Worker's IUE-CWA Local 381.

In her new role, Key will work with the union membership to promote activities that will enhance the lives of union members and their families. She will also engage and enlist both new and existing union members to participate in year round team building group and family activities and special events.

Key has worked for the Monroe County Department of Human Services as a Child Protective Services Investigation Caseworker for four years.
