Dorofy, Yanklowski tie school mark

Spencerport's first doubles team of seniors Heather Dorofy and Julie Yanklowski tied the school record for wins in a season (12) as they led the Rangers to a 4-3 win over Brockport in girls tennis on Senior Day.

The Rangers top duo won 6-2, 6-3 and have three matches remaining to break the record. Seniors Rita Britz and Samantha Stell also won at third doubles 6-2, 3-6, 6-0.

Freshman Molly Hannigan took her second singles match for the Rangers 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) and sophomore Christina Antonelli won at fourth singles 6-3, 6-0 as the Rangers improved to 8-5.

For Brockport, Calder Mills-Lexvold won at first singles 6-1, 6-4 and Katrina Collinsworth easily took her third singles match 6-1, 6-0. Alex Peruzzini and Katherine Ludington also won at second doubles 6-2, 7-5 for the Blue Devils, who fell to 4-3.

The Rangers will compete in team sectional matches on October 6 at Webster.
