Parma church honors pastor and wife

On September 18 the congregation of Parma Christian Fellowship Church honored their pastor and his wife for 25 years of service to the Parma community. The Rev. Michael Merrill and his wife, Pam, moved to Parma in 1980. The congregation chose September 18 to present them with a cake and a gift certificate, as it was Pastor Merrill's birthday. Pastor Merrill has been active in the community not only as a minister serving the church and nursery school families, but also at Hilton East, working with the Hilton Clergy Group, leading community Passover Meals and serving on Hilton school committees. He also has been an adjunct professor at Roberts Wesleyan College for 24 years and is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree at Northeastern Seminary. Pastor Merrill was the National Director of Youth Ministry for 10 years for the Free Methodist Church. Pam Merrill has been a nursery school teacher and director of Parma Free Nursery School for the last 25 years.
