Holley senior recognized for new high school logo

Holley senior Nick Acker is putting what he's learned in his computer graphics course to good use when he designed a new logo for Holley High School that will be used to promote school spirit and will be printed on t-shirts and banners.

He was presented with a Canon PowerShot digital camera and printer dock at the Homecoming pep assembly, he will be recognized at the October 17 Board of Education meeting where he will receive the "Soaring to New Heights" award. This award will be given to a student at the elementary, middle or high school each month. He is the son of Kimberly and Christopher Acker of Hulberton Road, Holley.

Holley CSD is holding a district-wide logo contest during October. The winning logo will be used on all district publications and the web site. Any Holley School district resident is eligible. Submissions may be in the form of a drawing, painting or computer created design in black and white or any two-color combination. Entries must be on 8" by 11" white paper or board and are due in the District Office by 4 p.m. on October 31. There is no limit to the number of entries per person. The contest will be judged by the Board of Education at its November 21 meeting and the winner will be announced that evening. The winner will receive a Canon PowerShot 3.2 mega pixel digital camera with photo printer. For information about the contest, contact Grace Griffee at 349-9072.
