Clarkson Horseman Association celebrates record year

On Saturday, November 5, the members of the Clarkson Horseman Association will host their 9th annual year-end banquet to celebrate a record setting year.

The membership of the Clarkson Horseman Association exceeded 125 members for the first time in 2005. In addition, a record number of competitors entered this year's two Open Horse Shows in July. The Town of Clarkson's Good Neighbor Horse Show in August drew an equal number of area and regional competitors.

Members rode in over eight area parades this year to the thrill of many spectators. The parades included Brockport's Mardi Gras parade, Greece Memorial Day parade and the firemen's parades in Holley, Hamlin and Hilton. In addition, a group traveled to Fulton, NY to participate in Fulton's Memorial Day parade.

The members and sponsors who have supported these events will be honored at the November 5 banquet at Salmon Creek Country Club.

As this year ends, preparations for 2006 events have already begun to include three open shows on July 9, July 30 and August 26 to be held at the Clarkson Horse Arena located in the Clarkson Town Park on Route 19, practices for the parade team and demonstrations for area organizations.
