Local veterans service organizations receive grants

Assembly Republican Leader Charles H. Nesbitt announced that he and State Senator George Maziarz secured $25,000 for the purchase of two vans by the Orleans County Veterans Service Agency and the Orleans Joint Veterans Council. The vans will be used to transport veterans to and from necessary medical appointments.

"It is always a pleasure for me to offer assistance to veterans and to the remarkable groups that serve them. I am honored to be a part of today's ceremony and look forward to lending a hand in these types of efforts in the future," Nesbitt said.

Paul Fulcomer, director of the Orleans County Veterans Service Agency said, "Without this all-volunteer service many Orleans County Veterans would be unable to receive the medical attention they need. I would like to thank Assemblyman Nesbitt and Senator Maziarz for their continued support."
