Business Council honors assemblyman

Assembly Republican Leader Charles H. Nesbitt (139 District) has received an "A" grade, the highest awarded, from the Business Council of New York State's ranking of state legislators. The Business Council monitored the action of each state legislator during the 2005 session and assessed how they voted on measures that impact jobs and the business climate.

"I am honored by the Business Council's recognition of my priorities," said Nesbitt. "I have always shared the organization's concern for job creation and retention in New York state, and supported its efforts to create a better climate in which to live and do business. In 2006, we will continue working together to advance this crucial agenda."

The Business Council grading system is based on legislators' voting records on issues such as Medicaid reform, energy costs, tax reform and economic development programs. Nesbitt was one of only seven to earn the highest possible score.
