Hospital getting a facelift

The front facade of Brockport's Lakeside Memorial Hospital facing West Avenue (south wing) is receiving a face lift. The original section of the hospital was built in 1949. Replacement of windows and installation of a new facade across the length of the building will refresh the look of the structure and will contribute to energy use savings. Improvements have been made possible through part of an energy performance contract to reduce energy consumption. The project is funded through a New York State Energy Research and Development Association (NYSERDA) grant. It is also self-funded by the savings which will be realized through reduced energy costs. Additional work funded by this grant included high efficiency lighting and updating the heating and cooling system in various areas of the hospital. Interior work was completed last winter. The exterior work updates the facility's physical image, providing a brighter, more modern appearance. Submitted photo.
