Young visionaires

Samantha Jones from Churchville-Chili Junior High School was selected as an M&T Bank RMSC Young Visionary. Students were selected based on leadership ability, outstanding effort and attendance in school, independent thinking and commitment to their families and communities. She will receive $1000 Savings Bond and the opportunity to work with the 18 other Young Visionaries on a year-long program. The students begin a year of in-depth experiences designed to increase their leadership skills, as well as their scientific thinking and knowledge in a program called "Don't Waste It!" - a year long investigation of the issue of waste. Kelby Weilnau, a Churchville-Chili Junior High School student, also qualified as a M&T Bank RMSC Young Visionary Finalist. He will receive tickets to the awards ceremony and a $50 coupon toward a week of summer camp at RMSC.
