Hilton singers selected for prestigious chorus role

The Hilton Bel Canto, a group of 29 choral students from Hilton's Merton Williams Middle School and the Village Elementary School, has been selected by audition to be the children's chorus for the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at the Auditorium Theater.

"This is a once in a lifetime experience for them," Hilton Music Program Coordinator Nancy Russo said. "They had to compete against three other schools for the opportunity to sing in the musical."

Bel Canto will be singing in eight performances from December 13 to 18. Hilton vocal music teachers Bridget Bishop, Tammy Reddinger, Hope Randolph and Marcia Sheremeta worked with the students before turning them over to the production company's musical director.
