Spencerport Schools seek members for facility task force

Spencerport Central Schools' Superintendent Mary Anne Kermis is seeking volunteers to serve on a district-wide facility study task force.

The Board of Education, on November 22, created a task force to study facility needs to support academic and athletic programs based on projected student enrollment through the year 2010-11 and respond to three issues: What are the existing and future space requirements of the district? What are the unmet building maintenance needs? And what can be done to meet those needs?

The board and superintendent of schools are looking for district residents to serve on this committee. The panel will consist of parents, teachers, students and administrators from each school, support staff and members from the community-at-large.

The committee meets on January 4 at 6:30 p.m. and is expected to meet twice a month until early March.
